Insidelima opens this new Agenda so you can be updated about the best things to do in the city. The main idea is to give you, either if you are a visitor just passing by or an ex-pat staying here for a while, the possibility of sharing the local culture from an inside point of view.

This agenda will give more importance to the kind of things you won’t find in a local guide book. It will be divided into 4 areas, considering most of all Free Entrance activities:

· MALI reopening! You shouldn’t loose the new Lima Art Museum. It is located in a neo Venice Renaissance style palace built in 1872. There you can appreciate a collection of pre-Hispanic pieces from Cupisnique (North Peru) and Camilo Blas paints (Cajamarca, 1910 – †Lima, 1985). Now there is also a temporary photo exhibition: Mario Testino Portraits. The second floor of the museum, which contains other important collections, is being restaured and will be ready in one year.

· San Marcos Contemporary Art Museum. This interesting collection could be visited in the old ‘Casona de San Marcos’.

· Afro –Peruvian Museum. Interesting exhibition about the black Peruvian community. Now showing also a temporary exhibition with some of the famous Pancho Fierro’s watercolours. Pancho Fierro was a naïf painter who lived in Lima between the last years of the colony and the beginning of the republic. He painted a huge and unique catalogue of Lima people portraits, which includes street sellers, priests, soldiers, etc.

This weekend finishes the Surco Festival. Live music, wine, food, in the old and pretty Surco Plaza de Armas.
